Biography:  Mark D. Kershey
With 27 years in high technology engineering, sales, business development and senior management, Mark brings a proven track record in opening new markets, building strategic partnerships, and leading new initiatives.  Mark’s senior management experience with several leading Canadian technology companies includes Gennum, Anatek, Unitron, MOSAID and Nortel.  At MOSAID, Mark led the design licensing sales effort where he continued to raise the bar for licensing revenues.  Mark caught Nortel's attention and he joined Nortel's semiconductor division as Managing Director for Global Sales, Marketing & Customer Service.  When Nortel downsized Mark seized the opportunity to co-found Barkley Capital and built an investment portfolio of 20 tech companies.  Mark later founded Magnitude Capital Partners creating a new portfolio of diverse tech companies in security, biotechnology, energy conservation and software.  Today Mark has assumed a full time role as VP Corporate Development with Spartan Bioscience Inc., a company that Mark and a core team have worked with to establish it as a viable business.  Spartan is an Ottawa based life sciences company founded by two doctors and an engineer that has a patented technique for on-demand DNA analysis.
